One of the PHS’s most important mission critical activities pertain to supporting our community (local/state/national) through various charitable initiatives. Since our inception we have donated in excess of $750,000 (includes the scholarship program) in value to the community we serve. Some of the programs which have been used to achieve this result are as follows: 1. Annual “Family Barbeque” previously known as “Feed the Needy” 2. Distribution of Food baskets at Christmas (week worth of food) 3. Annual support of Junior Achievement program 4. Paw-Sox outing (100 youth/year) 5. Annual blood drive (to stock St. Luke’s blood bank) 6. Scholarship program 7. Humanitarian Relief Fund 8. Charitable requests are reviewed by the board on a case by case basis for individuals and/or non-profit organizations We also give back much needed recognition to deserving outstanding members of our community at large through the following recognition programs: Brotherhood and Recognition Awards given yearly to worthy recipients from our community.
